Kumud Gandhi, Inspirational Speaker - Motivating Teams

Graduating from the London School of Economics, Kumud began her career in the city of London financial world at the Bank of England, where she was Head of International Investment Markets.

In 2001, Kumud followed her instinct and her family heritage in the science of food, shifting gears to study Food Science at The London Food Centre. Pursuing her thirst for knowledge to understand the chemistry of food. She went on to earn a Masters in Functional Medicine and Nutrition from King’s College, London. This expertise equipped her with all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle, gaining a deep understanding of how the chemistry of food impacts our biology and therefore the intrinsic relationship between what we eat and how we feel.

In 2008, Kumud ventured into the culinary world, establishing The Saffron House – a fine dining catering company renowned for its commitment to providing its clients premium luxury food experiences; using the science of food to create nutritious and wholesome food. She also created a range of pure spices by sourcing only the finest organic spices from around the world. The USP of this brand was to offer its client spices that are organic, as natural as possible, avoiding bulk additives and irradiation processes. Many of these spices and blends have been honoured with the gold taste award from The Guild of Fine Food and retail in fine delicatesans, Harvey Nichols and Amazon.

In 2010, Kumud founded The Cooking Academy, a highly acclaimed cookery school integrating science and nutrition into their teaching. Kumud teaches people to look at food from a functional perspective, to get the most nutritional value from food to benefit the human frame whilst creating delicious flavours with the perfect balance of spices.

Kumud is passionate about empowering people to eat and live well for improved health outcomes. Her own personal experience in the corporate sector, is a living testimony how a busy career can negatively impact our health.

Over the last decade Kumud has returned to the corporate world to share the vision of nutritional eating. Her new venture ‘Your Work Wellness’ offers a broad range of services to help organisations to reduce absence and sickness, attrition, and increase employee engagement. Using the five pillars of wellness they increase productivity and performance in the workplace through nutritional centric programmes.

‘Your Work Wellness’ has naturally evolved from The Cooking Academy, enabling her to bring the blend of science, nutrition and knowledge of wellness through improved diet to the corporate arena. Workshops and keynote events for companies such as Deloitte, EY, American Express, Astra Zeneca, Karl Storz and Hilton Group have served to improve employee productivity, engagement to increase staff retention and profitability, whilst simultaneously reducing sickness related absence.
